Current Deal's Important Agreement Details

- Contract Term: Five years (four if you live in AR, MI, WI, or CA) with Vivint's Smart Control packages and up. Total payments for five years should be $3,659.4, and $2,927.52 for four years.

Vivint's Equipment Point System

Vivint Starter and Smart Protect share the same features but they differ in the quantity of some. Basically, Vivint packages are separated by security equipment points that start from 5 points with Vivint Starter, 7 with Smart Protect, 9 with Smart Control, and 11 points with Smart Complete - which we haven't included as no price details are made available at this time. However, the idea is that out of Vivint's four packages, the first pair has key features different from the last two packages. You can, for example, choose to have motion detectors with any package; you can have up to five detectors with Vivint Starter, and seven with Smart Protect.

Vivint's Features

The packages from Vivint are heavy in features, even Vivint Starter - the most basic entry - has everything to do with intrusion protection, professional monitoring, interactive alerts, and convenience features, all of which are connected cellularly.

24/7 Monitoring

Depending on the type of items your security system consists of (i.e. cameras, sensors, etc.), the monitoring center is on constant look-out for suspicious activity of any kind. You serve three purposes when you sign up to a monitoring plan of this quality:

1. Peace of Mind: You can't possibly be in constant alert mode because that is no way to live. Now you can afford some respite with 24/7 monitoring in your corner with experienced professionals doing the worrying for you.

2. Medical Protection: A medical pendant can be provided to seniors and handicapped family members. As long as the person is within a 300-foot radius from the control panel, they can press the button and alert an on-call agent to send an ambulance immediately.

3. Round-The-Clock Support: Using the two-way voice featured in the control panel, you can call for help in the midst of various emergency situations (i.e. arriving home to a burglary in progress when your phone's battery is dead).

Cellular Connection

Faster and more reliable than a landline, a cellular connection uses a cellular uplink to send a signal to the monitoring center's closest cell tower, and this all happens within a split-second.  The main advantage of a connection of this sort is you won't be cut off from the grid if your phone lines are cut, the Internet goes down, or power goes out (all wireless devices have backup batteries).

"Looks Like Your Living Room Camera Detected Some Motion"

Seconds after a motion sensor detects movement of a heavy object (heavier than a pet), you will be notified via text or email of when and where the incident occurred. If it's an indoor camera that picked up the unusual activity, a short 20-second long clip, or Smart Clip, will be sent to you and stored in Vivint's cloud server to be watched later as evidence.

Door & Window Sensors

Three door and window sensors come with each package from Vivint. These sleek looking sensors immediately notify you and the monitoring center of a break-in through any entry point to your home. Another purpose would be to attach them to medicine cabinets, lockers, doors, or closets that are off limits.

Motion Detectors

Incredibly sensitive and effective, Vivint's motion detectors are equipped with the capabilities shared by all motion detectors of this caliber with the added bonus of pet-proof settings that you can customize for yourself. Simply look to the back of the sensor and you'll see two switches that you can adjust between "15K" and "25K", depending on the size of your animal.

Glass-Break Sensor

Vivint's glass-break sensor picks up on high-frequency vibrations that loud noise such as shattered glass resonates. Although glass-break sensors, in general, will sound off false alarms due to loud noises from glass breaking in a movie or other noises with high frequencies, this model is still one of the best and a worthwhile investment.

No matter where you are in the world, the smart door lock from Vivint can be locked and unlocked with any web-enabled device. This can also be done using the physical keypad on the lock itself.
