Ranking a bit higher than Colorado Springs is the city of Aurora, the 3rd most populous city, ranked #41 in terms of safety. Lakewood ranks at #59 with a rate of 6,037 crime per 100.000 people. The latest FBI report shows that the capital, Denver, is among the most dangerous cities in Colorado, namely #15 in the list of the most dangerous cities, with 4,247 crime rate per 100,000 people. Surprisingly, Also Aspen being a major tourist destination in winter, ranked #13 in the most dangerous cities list, with a rate of 4,765 crime per 100,000 people.
