The Safest and Most Dangerous Cities In Washington - 2018 Ranking!

Washington became the 42nd state to join the union on November 11, 1889. It was named in honor of President George Washington and is the only state to be named after a US president.

It is popularly known as the “Evergreen State”, because of its many forests which cover half of its lands. Washington is also known for producing more apples, pears, red raspberries, spearmint oil, and sweet cherries than any other state in the union.

Washington is also home to Boeing, the world's largest aircraft maker, as well as Starbucks, the biggest coffee chain in the world. It is also known for being the home to many internet and technology companies, such as Amazon.com, Classmates.com, Whitepages.com, Marchex, and Microsoft Corporation.

If you are considering moving to Washington or you already live there, make sure to continue reading to find out how safe Washington is compared to other states, and learn about its safest cities based on the most recent FBI crime report.

Ranking at #46 in terms of safety, Washington is the nation’s 13th most populated state with 7.288 million residents. When it comes to safe and dangerous cities, Connell, once an open range used by ranchers, is now the safest place in the state with a 574 crime rate per 100,000 people according to the recent FBI reports. The town of Duvall, a quiet place and home to 7,876 residents, is the 2nd safest place to live in Washington.

As for the biggest city in Washington, Seattle, it is neither ranked among the safest nor most dangerous cities but is at #98 in terms of safety, which is impressive for a large city as they tend to have the higher crime levels. Vancouver also didn’t make any lists, as it ranked #65 safe-wise. Bellevue, Seattle's biggest suburb, is ranked #60 in terms of safety.

Olympia, on the other hand, being the state’s capital, ranked #32 among the most dangerous cities with a 5279 crime rate per 100,000 people. The state’s 2nd biggest city, Spokane is the 5th most dangerous city with an 8286 crime rate per 100,000 people.
